Mary is a clinical psychologist with nearly 20 years of experience working with children, families, and adults in Minnesota, Massachusetts and New Mexico. She specializes in providing culturally competent psychological evaluations and psychotherapy for children and adults of cultural and ethnic minorities (especially Latino and Native American children). She is fluent in Spanish, Portuguese and Brazilian.
Mary worked as a child and adolescent psychologist for Allina Health in Cambridge, MN for eight years. She has worked for the Indian Health Service at the Taos and Mescalero reservations in New Mexico for two years and returned back to MN to be closer to family. She is board-certified in psychopharmacology and served as the chair of the psychopharmacology division of the MN Psychological Associate.
She takes a wide variety of approaches to mental health issues including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Functional Family Therapy, Mindfulness Therapy, Integrative Mind/Body work, EMDR, and hypnosis.
