For the past 25 years I have helped traumatized, depressed or anxious clients feel safe, heard, understood and empowered. Trauma and depression can make people feel hopeless, numb, empty and like they have lost themselves. They often resort to coping that helps them avoid or escape their emotional pain but doesn’t help them to heal or effectively manage their symptoms but they don’t know any other way. There is another way. In my gentle, compassionate, non-judgmental approach I help clients feel unconditional acceptance, support understanding and safety.
People begin to feel like their old selves again or for the first time gain a confidence and trust in themself that they never had. I help them heal and give them the tools to lead the fulfilling lives that they always wanted.
I completed my Master’s degree in Counseling in 2008 and a Post Graduate Certificate Program in Marriage and Family Therapy from St Mary’s University in 2011. I specialize in treating PTSD, Depression, Anxiety, Dissociation and Level 1 Autism, formerly known as Aspergers.. I utilize the most proven evidence based mind, body & spirit approaches, including but not limited to, trauma-focused, psychodynamic therapy, somatic therapies, CBT, mindfulness, attachment and polyvagal theories, family systems and self-compassion. Approaches are individualized for each client depending on their unique needs. I obtained my EMDR training from EMDRIA, the Official International Association for EMDR Clinicians.
